Newark Festive Gift Show postponed


Following yesterday’s announcement from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care regarding increasing certain areas of the UK (including Nottinghamshire) to Tier 3 COVID-19 lockdown measures, we feel that we have no alternative other than to make the difficult decision to postpone the Newark Festive Gift Show until 2021.  

This recent news is a huge blow to all parties associated, especially at this late stage, with over 150 exhibitors booked and record numbers of advance ticket sales.  We have been working very closely with the local council, whom have been very supportive of the event, to ensure that all Government guidelines are adhered to, however should the area increase to Tier 3, residents would be advised not to leave their homes (except for essential travel) meaning they would not be permitted to attend the show.  This is a risk that we cannot take and therefore we had to make the incredibly tough decision to postpone the event.

Although the postponement is heartbreaking, we feel this is the correct decision for the safety and wellbeing of our exhibitors, visitors and everybody involved.

If you have already purchased tickets…  All tickets purchased will be valid for next year’s show, which will take place on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October 2021. If you have booked a trade stand…  Exhibitors that have booked a trade stand at this year’s event will be contacted directly over the next few days. 

We are sorry any inconvenience caused but health and safety to all concerned is paramount.

PLEASE NOTE – This does not affect our remaining show in Norfolk which is due to take place from 13th – 15th November.  Norfolk is currently in the lowest tier and is fully supported by the Local Council and Showground.
